Zicam and Orajel Swabs Recalled
On June 6, 2025, Church & Dwight Co., Inc. recalled all lots within expiry of Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs, Zicam Nasal AllClear Swabs, and Orajel Baby Teething Swabs due to potential microbial contamination identified as fungi in the cotton swab components.
Swabs with microbial contamination pose a serious health risk, including the risk for potentially life-threatening blood infections. People with nasal mucosa may be compromised due to inflammation and mechanical injuries, those with a compromised immune system or other underlying medical condition, and children may be particularly vulnerable.
